Yeast Infection? Question!!?

Q. I have a few questions on yeast infection. (I have never got it before)
1) What is it?
2) How do you get it?
3) How do you get rid of it?
Thanks!

Answer
One of the most common female complaints, yeast infections are simply an overgrowth of the already present micro-organisms inside the vagina. Also known as "candida albicans", the yeast can get out of control for several reasons:

- Frequent sex which disrupts the Ph levels in your vagina (No, it is NOT an STD)
- Tight jeans, damp bathing suits, or other clothes that don't allow you the "breathe" down there
- Recent use of antibiotics (like amoxicillin, erythromycin, etc.)
- Recent or current use of birth control pills
- Diabetes
- Excess sugar and white flour in your diet
- Bathing instead of showering (or long periods in a hot tub / jacuzzi)
- In some women, it's simply part of an auto-immune response
- Not changing clothing immediately after exercise (and walking around damp)

Symptoms include redness and itching in and around the vaginal area. There is usually a thick, white clumpy discharge (that resembles cottage cheese... yuck, I know).

Most infection respond to over the counter remedies such as Monistat. You simple insert a tubeful of the antifungal cream before bed at night, and you will start feeling relief within 24 hours. If the over the counter product does not work, see your GYN to be certain that it's a yeast infection, and not a bacterial one (which requires different treatment).

If the discharge is greenish, or has a foul, fishy odor, it's a bacterial infection, and you'll need to see the doctor for antibiotics.

Again, this is a very common problem, that every woman has experienced at some point after puberty. Monistat should clear up the problem very quickly. It can be purchased at any drug store or supermarket.

Ain't being a girl fun???

Answer
not normal for blood go back to dr or call and tell him or her this.
the cervix is irritated the dark brown blood is from cervicitus. its to strong he shouldve just put you on diflucan one pill to get rid of it. stay out of hot tubs soaks . use condoms with sex adn stop eating sugar. if you are a diabetic yeast happens a lot.
eat yogurt take pro biotic pills.
this is found at gnc. probiotics and at grocers.
the thing with yeast ot candida is the over abundance of an oorganism fungus. guys with jock itch get this uuncircumcisedguys have it a lot more then not ccircumcisedguys the layers of skin are moist adn no air flows thru . it bbreedsmore environment for this.
