I own a hot tub store. I wrote up a deal I am wishing I never wrote up. Can I back out?

James Bayl

Customer purchases a used tub from me. A few days later he reports its leaking. Says he will pay difference for a new one. I want the customer happy and allow this to happen. Not a good deal for me because I have already spent the profit from his used tub. And now I have to go upside down on the purchase of the new spa. Meanwhile, I send a service man to his house to examine the leak. Come to find out the leak was a loose drain cap he caused. All it needed was a quarter turn. This is an exposed cap all consumers use to drain the spa. So....... customer buys used spa. Reports its leaking. I over react and allow a contact to be written for the difference on a new spa..Customer signs contract and pays for it. Has not been delivered. The original used spa is still in the customers backyard. Can I back out of the new spa upgrade?

Answer
no... u as a retailer should know that; that's bad for business... does it really matter anyway?

when u get the faulty tub back u're gonna send it back to the producers and get a refund from them..
dont be stingy sort out the problem as u promised u would and keep ur customers happy...

What is causing hot water tank to not keep water heated? Help please?

I have an electric water tank/heater. It worked fine the first year I lived in my house. It suddenly had a problem where the hot water would not stay hot after 5 minutes of use. It would go ice cold. The heating elements were replaced with new ones. Then after a few months I'm back to the same problem. It's getting worse. I then I have to wait for water to heat up for hours before using hot water. I still only get 5 minutes worth. I can't take a bath. Forget filling up tub. I can't finish a full shower. I can only lather my hair with shampoo and by the time I reach for conditioner it's ice cold water. Washing dishes is a challenge as well. Can only wash 6 pieces of dishes like dinner plates and bowls before it's cold.
It's a 30 gallon tank and the water source only is in the kitchen area. Bathroom is off kitchen and laundry room. So water only flows in that area and does not go upstairs as there is no plumbing upstairs.
Help?

Answer
>It sounds like you just have a very poor brand of water heater. Replace the BRAND of water heater with another one. By the time you replace another element, you will have paid for a brand new 200 Gal water tank. Make sure you check out consumer reports first on line and get adivce on which water heater brands are reliable.
