What fees will be expected to charge after you board a cruise ship?

I heard the cruise price is not a total price for taking a cruise. What fees will be expected to charge after you board a cruise ship?
Is the gratuity $10 to $12 per person, per day the only mandatory fee? Is the gratuity charged the same to the kid, by the way?

Answer
When you pay your cruise fare all taxes and port charges are included in that fare. Regardless of the cruise line the price of your cruise includes your cabin, all meals (including breakfast, lunch dinner, snacks and free room service), free admissions to all shows, disco, and entertainment, and free use of all facilities (except spa services) on ship like the pools, hot tubs, gym, and recreation activities, except you do have to pay if you want to use the golf simulator, to shoot pool (RC ships) or bowl (NCL ships), and to play video games. The things that you will have to pay for over and above your fare are:

GRATUITIES: They will amount to about $10 to $12 per person in your cabin per day, depending on the cruise line. When you check in at the pier they will set up an on-board charge account for you to cover any and everything you may buy on ship. They will issue you a "cruise card" which will also serve as your room key and pass to get on and off the ship. At the end of the cruise they will add the gratuity to your tab and you can pay with a credit card or cash, your choice. So everything on ship except the casino is cashless; everything you buy goes on your account. These gratuities cover your cabin steward, your waiter and assistant waiter, and MatreD in the main dining room. Those are the only person you are required/requested to tip at the end of the cruise; these should be considered pretty much mandatory although you can ask the purser to adjust them if you have a problem with any service received from these persons.

ALCOHOLIC DRINKS AND SOFT DRINKS: Coffee, tea, milk, juice, and lemonade and punch will be provided FREE but you must pay for soft drinks and alcoholic beverages and they will add a 15 percent gratuity to each alcoholic drink and soft drink order. Drinks of cruise ships are generally in the range of $7 to $9 including the 15 percent gratuity that is included in each tab. Beer and wine are slightly less, maybe $6 to $7. Cruise lines do sell a soft drink card that allow you unlimited soft drinks for the duration of your cruise. These you must buy the first day of the cruise and they generally cost about $6.00 a day for adults; $4.00 a day for kids. The cost of the soft drink card also goes on your on-board tab. The cruise lines DO NOT sell an alcoholic beverage plan, so you pay for drinks as you go.

PHOTOGRAPHS: Cruise ship employees will take plenty of photographs of you all over the ship, in the dining room, and as you exit the ship in ports. These will cost a lot, between $15 to $25 for most and the cost of them goes on your on-board tab. You can save yourself a lot of money by taking your own photos and asking other passengers to take photos of you; they generally always will.

TOURS/EXCURSIONS: You are not required to book any tours and you can get off and on in the ports as much as you want. But the cruise line will offer a lot of tours and these are NOT included and are expensive.

SOUVENIRS: Anything you buy on ship from a gift shop or duty free shop goes on your on board account.

CASINO: If you plan to gamble on ship you will need cash for that.

OTHER: All ships have what they call "specialty" restaurants where there IS a gratuity/service charge of between $20 and $25 per person per visit. However, all other food on board is free and its not really necessary to budget for food; you cannot eat all of the FREE FOOD that will be available.

SPA SERVICES: If you want/need to have your hair done, get a massage or wrap, or any services from the spa, you will have to pay for them. Spa fees start at about $70 to $80 and they go on your on-board tab if you use the spa services. You can use the gym free but the spa stuff cost big bucks.

INTERNET SVCS: Cruise ships now have an internet cafe and WiFi but the there is a fee for internet access and it is very expensive (about $50 an hour, a little less if you buy a plan). I always recommend that you skip the high priced internet on ship and wait for port stops where you can usually find an internet cafe where the charges are about $2. to $5 an hour. Just ask the cabin steward and/or your wait staff where the internet is at the port. They know because they use them when they can get off the ship.

ROOM SERVICE/MINI-BAR: You cabin will likely have a minibar with soft drinks and munchies; you have to pay for anything you take out of the mini-bar. You will have free room service (24/7) ; order by phone or on the TV on some ships.

First time cruiser wanting to know about charges other than actual cruise price?

J. L

My family will be cruising for the first time this year and I would like to know how much to expect to spend. We are on a tight budget. The price of the actual cruise is very reasonable, but are we going to end up spending twice as much with tips, shore excursions and the like? There are 5 of us; 2 adults and 3 children; traveling to Cozumel with Carnival.

Answer
I cruise quite a bit, usually 2 or 3 times a year and I also watch closely my budget and what I spend. So here's my list of what charges to expect and how to control your spending.

Regardless of the cruise line the price of your cruise includes your cabin, all meals including breakfast, lunch dinner, snacks and free room service, free admissions to the disco, all shows and entertainment, and free kids programs, use of all facilities on ship like the pools, hot tubs, gym, and recreation activities. The things that you will have to pay for are:

GRATUITIES: They will amount to about $10 to $11.50 per person in your cabin per day, depending upon the cruise line.

ALCOHOLIC DRINKS AND SOFT DRINKS: Coffee, tea (hot and cold), milk, juice, and lemonade and punch will be provided FREE but you must pay for soft drinks and alcoholic beverages and they will add a 15 percent gratuity to each alcoholic drink and soft drink order. Drinks of cruise ships are generally in the range of $7 to $9 including the 15 percent gratuity that is included in each tab. Beer and wine are slightly less, maybe $6 to $7. The cruise line does sell a soft drink card that allow you unlimited soft drinks for the duration of your cruise. These you must buy the first day of the cruise and they generally cost about $6.00 a day for adults; $4.00 a day for kids. The cost of the soft drink card also goes on your on-board tab. But if you want you can take on board with you a six pack of soft drinks and/or bottle water to help cut your costs; take them in your carry-on bags. Also, if you buy drinks ask for them in a plain glass rather than the souvenir glasses because they cost about $1.50 more in the souvenir glass. Also, buy the daily drink special which is generally about $1.00 less than other drinks.

PHOTOGRAPHS: Cruise ship employees will take plenty of photographs of you all over the ship, in the dining room, and as you exit the ship in ports. These will cost a lot, like $15 to $25 for most and the cost of them goes on your on-board tab. Take your own photos and ask other passengers to take photos of you rather than buying the ship's photos. Other passengers will always help you with this if you ask; or ask the wait staff also.

TOURS/EXCURSIONS: You are not required to book any tours and you can get off and on in the ports as much as you want. But the cruise line will offer a lot of tours and these are NOT included and are expensive. In Cozumel you can get off the ship and shop oir take a taxi to a beach rather than buying a tour. If you are also going to Grand Cayman you can get a taxi to 7-mile beach right on the pier; $4. per person each way.

SOUVENIRS: Anything you buy on ship from a gift shop or duty free shop goes on your on board account. Things that you buy on shore you pay cash or credit card for.

CASINO: If you plan to gamble on ship you will need cash for that.

OTHER: All ships have what they call "specialty" restaurants where there IS a gratuity/service charge of between about $5. and $25. All other food on board is free and its not really necessary to budget for food; you cannot eat all of the FREE FOOD that will be available so skip the specialty places.

ROOM SERVICE/MINI-BAR: You cabin will likely have a minibar with soft drinks and munchies; you have to pay for anything you take out of the mini-bar. But the room service (24/7) is always free. However, you should tip the person who brings your order at least a couple dollars, more if you order a full meal for several people.

These are the charges that you may have but the only one of these that is pretty much mandatory is the gratuities. All of the others are optional and completely under your control. Whenever I cruise

Im thinking of getting a Ball Python?

hot tubs under 3 000 image
Q. I would like to get one that is already eating good. Im just wondering how much I can expect to spend on everything that I will need. Any further information on pythons would be appreciated!

Answer
Getting an already established snake from a reputable breeder is probably the best way for you to go. Or you could check your local paper or craigslist. Although going that route is kind of a 'you get what you pay for' gamble. Going through a breeder or a pet store, you shouldn't pay any more than 75.00 for a normal morph (A morph just means a different colored/patterned snake than normal). Morphs are more expensive, I can't give you specifics but will say you could pay anywhere from 500-3,000 dollars.

Carewise, if you start off with a baby, BP you can do quite nicely with a ten gallon aquarium. You'll have to upgrade as the snake get's larger, but an adult ball python can easily live out it's life comfortably in a thirty gallon aquarium. BPs rarely exceed 4.5 feet in length. A five foot BP is huge. Females will be larger than males. Although they're by far the most common, I dislike keeping snakes in glass aquariums because they don't hold humidity well. I recommend you get a plastic tub. Unless you're just a stickler for looks, you can get a plastic tub from Wal-mart for like 10 bucks and that will work just fine. Next you'll need an under the tank heater (UTH). Flexwatt is a very good choice, but you'll have to get a thermostat to control the amount of heat it produces. next is your choice for substrate and hides. Aspen is very popular, and is a good choice. I use newspaper because it is cheap and easy to clean. DO NOT USE any kind of cedar/pine substrates. It is toxic and will kill you snake. There should be two hides in your cage, one on the hot side, and one on the cold side. Ball pythons are a shy nocturnal species that like to have good snug hides. Forgetting them may lead to feeding issues down the road.
Your python will need a daytime ambient temper of around 85 degrees with a hotspot of 90 degrees. Night time temps can fall safely to 80ish, as long as they have that hotspot then they're good.
Humidity should be at least 55-60% at all times, and 75% during shed.
Too little humidity can lead to poor sheds and poor health. To high of a humidity can lead to Respitory infection. Make sure your snake has a waterdish large enough that it can soak in. Although BPs don't normally soak, every snake enjoys a good path from time to time. Plus a large water dish can help you maintain the proper humidity.
Also, DON'T GUESS at your snakes temps and humidity. Get a good thermometer/hydrometer. Accurites work very well and are also available at walmart for 12 dollars.

To feed your snake, offer appropriate sized prey. By appropriate, I mean that the prey should be about the size of the snake at it's thickest. As a baby, feed thawed fuzzy mice every 7 days or so and you can move up as the snake grows larger. An adult non-breeding python can easily live on small to medium rats given every 10-14 days. Feed frozen/thawed or freshkilled. Only as a LAST resort should you feed a live rodent to your snake. They can bite and either injure or kill the snake.

Prepare for a commitment, in captivity and with proper care a BP can easily live 25 to 30 years.

On Mites and Vet Care;
Before you get your snake, check your area and make sure there is a qualified exotic (i.e. does snakes) vet around you. If the unforseeable does happen, and your snake gets sick or hurt, you want to make sure there is someone there to help.
Lastly, this is a danger to all herpers, but if you get a snake with mites (and you shouldn't if you go through a reputable breeder) I suggest provent a mite. It works wonders.

Anyways, my $0.02 I hope it helps you, and I wish you a warm welcome to the world of snakekeepers.

What should/should not be bought when it comes to baby items?

Natalia D

From your experience what baby thing and gadgets should be bought and what should be left at the store?
Here is my list:
Nasal Clear nasal aspirator $39.95 at http://www.onestepahead.com has no suction and makes allot of noise. Canât be returned once opened.
Breastbottle® Nurser $14.95 the bottle is too soft making it hard for the baby to latch on to the nipple. Also it leaks allot.
Evenflo Deluxe Splash with Me tub $19.99. Leaks if filled about half way. The spray hose does not fit any of our faucets.
Rainforest Jumperoo $79.99 +$10 off at Burlington coat factory. Great toy, lots of fun, my baby loves it, but does not play with any of the attached toys. Exchanged for Bouncing Tigger Seat $19.99 just as much fun and loves it just as much. The problem is attaching it to the door.
Diaper Genie II Advanced Disposal System $29.99 +refills $5.99 Stinky and messy. Replaced by a cute garbage can thatâs lined with used, clean, plastic grocery bags.
Baby Wipes Warmer $19.99 Well worth it, especially when changing diapers at night.
Fresh Food Feeder (2-Pack) mesh bag $6.99 Great invention. Canât say anything bad about it.
Please share what you think is worth the buy and what is not. Thank you.
Oh yeas, the diaper warmer does dry up diaper wipes. But by adding a half cup of water into the warmer once the wipes start to dry up helps with that issue.
I still like the mesh bags. I put pieces of apple or carrots and my baby enjoys them. When she is done she just drops the bag and when wants more she makes a clicking sound with her tongue. I donât think that they eat everything you put in there. She does not like peaches and if I put a peach in there she spits it out and throws the bag away. Itâs better than worrying that she might choke on something.

Answer
I have 2 babies of my own and watch 4 other babies under the age of one since they were 6 weeks old and these are the things I swear by:

-Medela Quick Steam Sterilizing bags
-Fisher Price Papasan Swing
-Boppy
-Fisher Price Kick and Play Vibrations Bouncy Chair
-Any cool looking exersaucer
-Steal the green nasal suction bulbs from the hospital or doctors office they are the best ones, the ones at the stores don't compare- don't feel bad you won't after you get your $5,000 a day hospital bill.
-Dr.Brown's bottles - for the gassy babies
-Costco wipees
-Mylicon
-Summer Infant baby Monitors - if anything happens to them you can send them back and they will send you the newest monitor they have even if it is more expensive. I reccomend the video montior you can turn the volume down and still make sure baby is okay if you don't want to hear every whine.
-Medela Pump in style if you breastfeed
-Arrowhead Water Service if you don't - The stand comes with hot and cold button half and half don't have to warm bottles up.
-Huggies Diapers - I tried every brand and those are the best!
Not so fond of....

-Bottles warmers waste of money- I used it for a week
-Diaper Genie - used for a month. My husband takes out the trash but always forgets the diaper genie.
-Walkers - something always happens and the exersaucers stay put while still stregthing their leg muscles
-I used the wipee warmer for about six months with my daughter and about 3 months with my son they both seemed fine the minute I used a cold one on them.

For me, even though I am 37, I recently ordered from amazon the book "Welcome home, Jellybean" which was based on an ABC after school special I saw in the early 80's when I was like 11 or 12!

Answer
haha! I wore my 80's pink and black chuck taylors and put my hair in a subtle 80's style when i went to see Hot Tub Time Machine .lol. They went back to the year 1986 in the movie so i'd thought i'd dress the part.

Has any one ever used Affresh High Efficiency Washer Cleaner, for their smelly washer?

Mama

Hello

Just bought Affresh High Efficiency Washer Cleaner off amazon and has any one ever used it? My washer smells bad of mildew and the clothes are starting to have that scent (eww), and have tried many thing with no avail. Hope someone's used this!

Answer
I use the detergent that goes into the dishwasher, NOT hand washing type detergent, pour the dishwasher detergent directly into the washer tub. About the same amount you use for a load of dishes in the dishwasher. Then I add about a quarter cup of bleach into the bleach dispenser, I run the washer, empty, on the hottest cycle I can. This should solve the mold inside the tub wall. When finished, let the door stand open. Do not shut the washer up tight after washing clothes, it needs to dry out between washes or at least when not in use.

Snowboard trip to Steven's Pass what are the best lodging/cabin spots?

1boredguy

Planning a weekend snowboard trip to Steven's Pass. What are some great places for small cabin rentals? It will probably be 2-4 people on this trip.

Answer
This site has hotel/cabin reccomendations, as well as returants and activities!

http://www.destination360.com/north-america/us/washington/stevens-pass.php

No matter what activities visitors enjoy, a visitor who is enjoying the great outdoors on their Washington State travel will love how close a Washington cabin rental can take them to the incredible scenery and nature of the Pacific Northwest. Washington is a state that is filled with outdoor attractions like cruises, skiing, camping and hiking, as well as white water rafting, so the Washington cabins you can rent, be it small and basic to luxurious and comfortable, are a great alternative to staying at impersonal chain Washington hotels.

Skiing is popular in this state, due primarily to the many Washington Mountains, which are home to very popular ski resorts. Areas around Stevens Pass see a lot of traffic headed for the slopes. Wise homeowners have converted their homes into Washington cabins, or simply built lodging on their land, and have enjoyed the popularity of the area they live in.

The Harmony Lodge is a great example of a Washington cabin rental, although all the different ones have varying sizes, shapes, and locations. Harmony Lodge is set in a wooded valley, and 50 acres of private land wrap you in privacy and isolation if that is what you see. There is an area of the Index creek that also belongs to the cabin, so you have this area for your own use. This is one of the more secluded rental cabin Washington has, so you get the freedom and seclusion that people who come to enjoy Washington State travel will seek out.

Also in the area is Maggie's Cabin, situated on the Skykomish River. This Washington Cabin rental is a short 23 mile drive from Stevens Pass. There are two bedrooms and a hot tub in this 700 square foot cabin. There is also a fireplace that has a stove insert for a truly rustic experience. Add a kitchenette and a television with a DVD and a VCR, and you don't feel like you're totally roughing it.

Compared to any other rental cabin Washington has, the Sunset Falls Cabin is spacious. You can sleep up to four adults when you utilize the futon, which folds out to a queen sized bed. There is an original log cabin on the property. The Gold Digger Cabin can only hold two people, but it is warm and romantic nonetheless. There is a Jacuzzi in the bathroom, and a wood stove to curl up in front of. A great view of the summit of Mount Index can be seen from the living room of this Washington cabin rental.

If you'd like to rent one of the Washington cabins that have waterfront views, the Bells Beach cabin on Whidbey Island will give you great views of the Saratoga Passage. Outside the front door, you can see seals, herons, seagulls, and tugboats. There are also great views of the sunrise and Mt. Baker. There are not many rental cabins Washington has with great views of the water, the sunrise, and a mountain, so the Bells Beach cabin is a great place to stay. You can relax on the easy chair and look out at the lovely scenery through the picture windows, unwind in the relaxing hot tub and reflect on the remaining things you want to experience on your Washington state travel excursion.

Something kool but not just simply going out to eat thats alittle boring lol
The All New Mrs. Fisher!: I dont live in Texas and even though your idea sounds great Im alittle scared of bed & breakfasts, Lets just say I've watched to many scary movies lol and Ill prefer to stay away and what can I say I love my wife like crazy I love her the same she loves me :)

Answer
Get grandma to watch the new baby (if that's an option) and go on a mini trip! Go rent a log cabin or a lake house or beach house for a night or two. Or you could go to the city and stay in a hotel and see what downtown has to offer.

One thing that we did the day we got married was we went to a bed and breakfast. I don't know if you've heard what those are, it's usually an old house with 4-6 bedrooms. The house is themed and beautiful! It will be a little mansion. You can get them with hot tubs and stuff too. It is very homey and just amazing! Anyways, so you will only be there with like 2 or 3 other couples and in the morning, you all go downstairs to the dining room and have breakfast with the other couples. The owner of the house will make breakfast for all. It was completely amazing. If you like in TX let me know and I'll give you the site to the one we went to.

The next day we just spent the day at the beach. It was nice.

Geez, tell you wife that she is one lucky lady!! Having a husband who is really trying to make this special! Can you talk to my husband? LoL

Answer
1.Check your air filter once a month by holding it up to a bright light. If you can't see through it, it's time to clean or replace the filter.
2.Use ceiling fans rather than the air conditioner when possible.
3.Close curtains and blinds to help keep the sun out in the summer.
4.Make sure there are no cracks around doors and windows.
5.Avoid cooling rooms that are not occupied.
6.Improving attic ventilation and insulation can lower the temperature of your home during hot summer days. Also consider installing an attic fan to dispense hot air.
7.Raising the thermostat to 78 degrees can save on cooling costs.
8.Awnings, trees and large shrubs near windows all help to block out the heat from your home.
9.Avoid opening and closing doors. Heat enters and the cold air escapes.
10.Open curtains and blinds to let the sun warm your home in the winter.
11.Keep drapes closed at night to keep warm air indoors.
12.Check your air filter once a month. Replace dirty filters regularly.
13.Ensure that your home has proper insulation in walls, ceilings and floors.
14.Storm windows and doors prevent warm air from escaping.
15.Keep your fireplace damper closed when not in use.
16.Keep your thermostat at the lowest temperature comfortable for you.
17.Avoid opening and closing doors. Cold air enters and the heated air escapes.
18.Turn lights off when you leave a room.
19.Use a timer or motion detector for outdoor lighting to turn it off when not needed.
20.Keep your light fixtures clean.
21.Fluorescent bulbs last 10 times longer and use 75% less electricity.
22.Use your microwave when possible to heat food rather than your stove or oven.
23.Make sure your oven door and refrigerator doors seal when closed.
24.Make sure you turn off your oven and stove top after cooking.
25.Using a small pan on a large burner wastes energy and can be a safety hazard.
26.Cooking with a lid on your pan, keeps the heat inside and speeds up cooking time.
27.Use a toaster oven to cook small items.
28.Avoid opening the oven door while cooking. It lowers the oven temperature.
29.Avoid running the dishwasher until it is full.
30.Open the dishwasher after the rinse cycle and let your dishes air dry instead of using the heated drying cycle.
31.Check your refrigerator door seal to ensure that the door does not leak cold air.
32.Clean refrigerator condenser coils in the back and bottom to increase efficiency.
33.Be careful not to block the freezer fan that allows cold air to circulate.
34.Refrigerator temperature should be 36-38 degrees.
35.Refrigerator freezer temperature should be 0-5 degrees.
36.If possible, locate your refrigerator away from heating vents.
37.Insulate your water heater and hot water pipes.
38.Lower your water heater temperature. 110 to 120 degrees is sufficient.
39.Use a âflow controlâ device on your showerheads and sink faucets to regulate hot water usage.
40.Avoid washing clothes until you have a full load.
41.Use a cold water detergent. The temperature of the water used during the rinse cycle will not make your clothes any cleaner.
42.Dry laundry loads one immediately after the other to use left over heat efficiently.
43.By reducing drying time, you can save energy and extend the life of your fabrics.
44.Moisture sensing dryers shut off automatically when your clothes are dry.
45.Clean out the dryer lint filter often to ensure proper air flow and shorter dry times.
46.Turn your computer off at night.
47.If you have a pool, set the pump to the minimum time required for the time of year. You do not need to run the pump as long in the winter as you do in the summer.
48.Consider a solar heater for your pool.
49.Turn off the hot tub when not in use.
50.Unplug cell phones, cameras, lap tops, etc. when charged.

Be green!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pacific Beach / San Diego Hotels?

Selena

I need a either a Pacific Beach Hotel or Downtown San Diego Hotel.
Maybe around $100 per night? Or less? Less would be nice :3
It must have:
- pool
- 1 room for three adults,
- Friday to Saturday (7/15/11 - 7/17/11)

Around 3 stars, unless personal experience was good there
Thank you!

Answer
Well, it seems your reservation is a bit late for the dates you choose, for most hotels receive advance reservation via internet. The locations you prefer are always crowded with people on weekendsâ¦.And also, you can not expect cheap rates for the dates and locations you prefer, just too late!!

After a good and time-consuming search, I really got some hotels meeting your needs..hohoâ¦

Best Western Plus San Diego Miramar Hotel, a 2.5 star hotel located in suburban and offers convenient access to a variety of key attractions like San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld and San Diego Wide Animal Park.. As you are 3 persons in one room, I suggest you to choose Standard 2 Queens which starts from $126 per night. This hotel features:

- outdoor swimming popl
- hot tub
- complimentary breakfast
- complimentary high-speed internet access

So I think it is pretty good and of great value.

In addition:

** Days Inn San Diego South Bay (2 stars, from $93 per night)
** Super 8 Motel San Diego South Bay (2 stars, from $85 per night )
** American Best Value Inn & Suites (2.5 stars, from $80 per night)
** Hampton Inn San Diego Downtown (2.5 stars, from $169 per night)

Btw: be quick to make reservations! Rooms available at the above hotels are just several.

Hope you GOOD LUCK!!!!

Hey

ok so i want to get my best friend something for christmas but idk what to get her! nothing big or anything just something cheap but thoughtful. we are both 12. help!

Answer
i have been trying to come up with this all day. last year i done cute holiday mugs that i got at the dollar tree, a pack of hot cocoa, a box of candy canes, a bag of tootsie rolls, and a pair of dollar christmas earrings, and one of those little plastic christmas tubs they have a walmart

open the box and depending on how many you are making, divide the packs among the mugs. put one in the mug, and then rest in the tub. but the mugs in the middle of the tub. open the tootsie rolls and put them in the tub around the mug. open the candy canes and place them in the mug with the cocoa. get the earrings and place them on the tootise rolls.

google "snowman soup"

its a little poem that goes with all of this
it says the candy can is the stirring stick and all kinds of cuteness

its really cheap, under 5 dollars a person
i wish i could do it again
i keep the same friends though. haha

and oh. get plastic wrap stuff they use on gift baskets. tie that around it and make a huuuuge pretty ribbon. its the cutest thing ever

where would you suggest a family to stay on first trip to disneyworld?

mike m

the kids are 16 and 19 years old and we are trying to stay centrally located around the park, any help would be appreciated thanks

Answer
If you decide to stay on grounds you have benefits that people that are not staying on the grounds will have. Such as:
Free Bus transportaion to and from the parks, Magical Hours, which are special days during the week that the park is open and hour earlier or stays open an hour or more in the evening. Also Disney offers the magical express which is FREE transportaion to and from the airport if you are staying on Disney Property......

There are many different options. You can go cheap with the value resorts; All-star resorts and Pop Century ( i recommend pop Century. It is a very large resort with a very nice pool and awesome themes for each building. Your room will be your average Holiday inn. It is not really close to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, or Mgm Studios. Average night stay off season is around $75 average night stay prime season is $99. A very nice option is to go on EBAY and find someone who is renting out there Disney Vacation Club points at one of 6 resorts on grounds. Try doing a search on ebay under Disney vacation club or DVC points.. Disney vacation club resorts are Old Key West, Boardwalk, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Wildernes Lodge, Saratoga Springs, Beach Club. You can sometime find someone renting there points out for a Sunday thru Friday stay for under $1000. These resorts are your home away from home resorts. The studio rooms have a kitchenette, microwave, sink, toaster, coffee maker, and mini fridge. These resorts tend to have a better pool with a slide and a hot tub, which value resorts will not have.
If you are planning a trip to DisneyWorld I HIGHLY RECOMMEND looking at these to websites even over Waltdisneyworld.com....These websites are Allearsnet.com and Mousesavers.com....both of these websites are AWESOME. They will let you know of any updates at the parks or resorts and also will post what deals are available. I am a DISNEY VACATION CLUB member and still use these websites. I hope that this helps you.....Also stop by a library and check out the Unoffical Guide to Walt Disney World. It is a fabulous book with lots of helpfull information about anything you need to know about Disney World.

California central coast wineries?

mmm0987

My husband and I are planning a 5 day romantic central coast vacation in end of June. We will be stopping in Solvang, pismo beach and Morro bay. We are planning to take the full day "grapeline winery picinic tour" where they will take us to 4-5 different Santa Barbara wineries as we don't want to drive. We are also planning to stop by at Lafond vineyards in San luis obispo and probably do some hiking to see waterfalls near big sur. I would appreciate any ideas or suggestions for this central coast vacation. Is biking along the Foxen trail in Santa Barbara recommended? Which wine trails are better for a day trip or should we just stick to grapeline shuttle? Any good hotels or other activities on the central coast that we should not miss? Thanks!

Answer
I live in SB, and it sounds like you are on the right track. Some of the wineries that I like are Curtis, Zaca Mesa, Mosby, Rideau and Sunstone. Firestone is the largest in the area.

For a real treat there is a nice spa in the area, called Sycamore Springs. If you stay there, most rooms have their own private hot tub, or you can come for the day and rent a private tub by the hour. They also have hiking trails and great massages. I went their for a girls trip, but it is more suited to couples. I have given you the link below.

The Madonna Inn would also be a great place to stay. I'll give you that link as well.

Have a great time. The whole area is beautiful, you really can't go wrong.

What are the things to look for when buying a spa/hot tub?

I have asked this question twice without getting a good answer so far-I am considering buying a spa/hot tub. I do not want to spend too much money to buy one.
There are so many different styles of spa/hot tubs. What are things that I am looking for in a quality spa/hot tub? I am concern about spending a lot of money for one that may lead to major repairs in near future.
Also-can someone explain to me what to look for in spa/hot tub to avoid dry rot and not to have the pumps & motor go bad.
How much horsepower is good to have to be considered a good buy?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated....

Answer
Okay, here we go. Go to a spa dealer or manufacturer and ask to sit in an EMPTY tub. One size does NOT fit all. If you are 5 ft. 6 you need a different tub than if you are 6 ft. 5. Try a number of them until you find one that feels right. You will be more buoyant when it's full of water, but you don't want to have to hold on to keep from floating away. Next, discuss with the dealer exactly which parts you want massaged most. Upper back, lower back, neck, shoulders, calves, feet, etc. There are a gazillion different types of jets (and jet clusters) each of which is designed to massage certain areas. (Remember, a spa is MORE than a soak in hot water. If that's what you want just fill the bath tub and soak away!) A spa is more like a marriage counselor with bubbles.
Next, try to avoid the temptation to over buy. Seems everybody wants a huge spa. Truth is, you will generally be in it either alone or with one other person. Why pay for way more spa than you actually need? My first one was a big one. Several spas later I have a tiny one that seats 4 people tops. Usually I am in it alone, or with my bride. Now about horsepower. The dealer can direct you best. Depends on the type and number of jets used. Soaking in a spa should be relaxing. You shouldn't get bruised from sitting in front of a too powerful jet. Flow rates are very important when properly sizing a spa pump (or pumps.)A good dealer will know best. If he doesn't, then walk away and find one that does. All of them are going to tell you their brand is best. Few will actually try to "customize" a tub just for you. That's the one you want to use. Different sizes, seating arrangements, jets, and then colors. Then the equipment. All of these factors make a spa a pleasure, or a disappointment.
Hope this helps.

Is there an advantage to hooking up a hot tub as 220v vs 110v?

Brett J

I'm looking at a hot tub that can work off of 110 or 220 volt? Which should I go with? I'd rather not have to pay an electrician to hook up a 220v.

Answer
Before you base your decision on permits and cost â¦the determining factor should be the region you live in â¦..if a northern region do you intend to use your tub during the winter months.
If the answer is yes â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦â¦ you will not be satisfied with the 120v.
There are a few more factors involved, but truthfullyâ¦â¦â¦â¦â¦ unless you are in the banana belt, I would go with the 220

how to set up a indoor habitat for a box turtle?

outdoor hot tub enclosures

outdoor hot tub enclosures image

JayCee

what kind of heating will one need? also do the males or females tend to be smaller?

Answer
Box turtles tend to do well either outdoors, or in a large indoor enclosure. Many people do keep them in tiny aquariums, but it is a rather sad existence, in my opinion. One type of indoor container that actually works quite well is a large Rubbermaid tub. Rubbermaid tubs and specially built wooden boxes have an advantage over glass aquariums because they have opaque sides. Some box turtles will obsessively try to get through the glass to get to the larger area that they can see on the other side. Others become frightened by any activity in the room and will not relax until the sides are covered.

Box turtles do well at a wide range of temperatures. Indoors, no additional heat (other than a warming lightbulb during the day) is necessary. Outdoor enclosures must provide a way for the turtle to avoid extreme heat (heavy shade in at least one area, deep burrowing capability, and a pond.) Twice daily sprinkling may be required in hot, arid regions. In areas where overnight temperatures are likely to drop below 60°F., a ceramic heater (available at pet stores) may help keep the turtle comfortable in one area of the enclosure. Indoor habitats should provide a cool area and a warm area. During the day, keep one area at about room temperature (68-72F.) with a basking area as warm as 85 (maximum). Overnight temps can drop to about 60 and 75 (maximum).

Males are usually larger than the females.

would a water dragon be good as a pet ?

Ross B

it will be my first lizard so any info would be appricated
how big do they grow and what size tank and how much?
thanks

Answer
Water dragons are native to the Southeast Asian mainland and Indo-Australian archipelago. Most imports arrive from Thailand or southern China.

Males typically reach 3 feet; females are somewhat smaller. Males develop larger heads, jowls and crest on the back of the neck, and their femoral pores are somewhat larger than on the female.

Always have new animals checked by a vet for internal and external parasites (bring a fresh fecal sample if you can - or get one to the vet at the soonest opportunity), hydration, nutritional status and overall health.

Captive Environment
You will need a large enclosure, one larger than most people think will be needed by a lizard of this size. The reason most are missing much of their faces, rubbed off from the snout back past the front teeth, is that water dragons will literally rub their flesh off and break their jaw bones trying to get out of a too small enclosure. They need space at least 2 x their total length - so you are talking min 6 ft long (side to side), at least 2-3 feet deep and 4-6 feet high to do it right.

Water dragons can be kept together, with one to three males in a room-sized enclosure. Some females can be domineering and may not want any other females around...others can co-habit with 3-4 females. You must monitor them all the time to assure all are feeding and basking properly throughout the year. If any aren't, you are most likely seeing the results of intimidation and will need to increase the number of basking and feeding areas and/or increase enclosure size or separate them.

Water dragons are semi-arboreal but also need enough water to submerge and swim comfortably in, as well as branches for climbing, and plenty of ground area for roosting and feeding. They also need the appropriate thermal gradients, photoperiods, and a UVB light.

Substrate
Mixture of 2/3 peat soil + 1/3 clean sand with areas of bark. Can also keep on fake Astroturf. Very active digestive systems so lots of messy poop if they don't go in their water.

Branches
Placed on the diagonal for climbing, horizontal for roosting.

Plants
Suggestions for suitable live plants include dragon plants (Dracaena), pothos (Scindapsus aureus), Ficus benjamina trees, Monstera deliciosa (philodendron) and staghorn ferns. Plants will need to be replaced as they are shredded by claws or eaten.

Temperature
Day time: 84-88 F with drop to 75-80 F at night. Must have a basking area going up to 90 F during day at one side of tank. Use thermometers! No hot rocks - use overhead basking lights and an under-tank heat pad or one under the indoor/outdoor carpeting substrate.

UVB Lighting
Must have direct sun or a suitable UVB-producing fluorescent (Vitalite by Durotest or Zoo Med's Iguana or Reptile light). Plant grow lights do not produce UVB and most so-called 'full spectrum" lights do not either. Must produce wavelengths in the 290-320 nm range.

Water
Must be available at all times for full body immersions up to at least 1/2 their height. Must be cleaned and disinfected daily...two days okay if they don't poop in it! If they dive into their water from a shelf or branch, you need to make the tub deeper so they do not injure themselves.

Feeding

Hatchlings and Juveniles:
2-3 week old crickets which have been previously gut-loaded (e.g., not right from pet store!) Also offer finely chopped vegetables and fruits (see iguana salad ingredients for a healthy salad). As the dragons grow, offer only slightly bigger crickets, and add in some mealworms and baby ('pink') mice, and occasionally a waxworm for a treat. Smaller food items are more nutritious and more efficiently digested than fewer bigger items. Feed every 2 days - or oftener if they look hungry.

Adults:
Small mice, 4 week old crickets, kingworms (Zoophoba) as well as plant matter. Feed every 2-3 days - or oftener if they look hungry. Also feed plant matter, such as greens and fruits (see iguana salad for recipe).

Miscellaneous Care Issues

Claw tips may be clipped. For how to do it, read the document claw trimming in the iguana page.

Water dragons, like sailfin lizards, can be held but they do not like to be clasped. Hold gently with your hand held loosely cupped around them.

Common Ailments in Captivity - caused by captive environment

Abscesses - infections due to injuries or stress
Internal Parasites (filthy import and pet trade conditions) (see below)
Metabolic Bone Disease (Calcium Deficiency due to- poor diet, inadequate UVB and/or heat
Rostral/Snout Damage - too small an enclosure
Stomatitis (Mouthrot) - snout damage, systemic infection due to improper environment or stress
Swollen/Infected Limbs - fractures due to MBD or getting caught in inappropriate tank setups.
Articular/Periarticular/Pseudo Gout - improper foods and insufficient hydration
Respiratory Infection - inadequate heat; stress
Gastroenteritis - protozoan, bacterial or worm infections (see below)
Diet-related Parasitic and Protozoan Infections
Gastrointestinal parasites may inhabit the mouth, coming from infected prey or from regurgitated prey that brings up parasites from lower down in the intestinal tract. The parasites live out parts of their life cycle within the intermediate or primary host, taking up residence in and migrating through different organs and systems. Many such parasites come from fish and amphibians that are used by the parasite as intermediate hosts during their life cycle. Some of these parasites, such as Rhabdias spp. may cause abscesses within the mouth or may migrate to the lungs. These are commonly found in garter snakes (Thamnophis spp.), grass snakes (Natrix spp.), and water snakes (Nerodia spp.), and other reptile species fed primarily on fish. The reptiles themselves may be treated with levamisole at 10 mg/kg sq. Feeder fish may also be treated, left to swim for 24 hours in a gallon of water mixed with 250 mg of levamisole.

Protozoan infections due to amoebæ is a problem world-wide and can cause serious health complications and mortality, including in captive reptiles. The cysts are ingested either through eating an infected reptile's feces or that of some other infected animal, such as wastes from feeder animals. Once in the gastrointestinal tract, the amoebæ become active (trophozoites), and start reproducing by binary fusion. They start invading the mucosal lining of the GI tract, get into the blood, and spread through out the body through tissues and organs. Some trophozoitesr are transformed into cysts which are then excreted in the feces, awaiting to be ingested by another host. Fecal smears are required to visualize cysts and trophozoites; cysts can be found using fecal flotation, with fecal samples containing mucous or blood being the most likely to contain the cysts.

An interesting note... The most common - and pathogenic - amoeba in reptiles is Entamoeba invadens. Some reptiles (crocodiles, box turtles, garter snake, Northern black racer) may serve as a reservoir for this protozoan, carrying it and spreading cysts through their feces but not themselves showing any signs of illness. Certain reptile families seem to be particularly susceptible to dysentery from E. invadens infections (boids, crotalids, elapids, viperids, varanids), with giant tortoises as water snakes being most susceptible. This can be a problem in captive collections where enclosures are set up to house aquatic or terrestrial turtles and semi-aquatic or terrestrial lizards, such as sliders and water dragons. Accurate amoeba identification is essential as other amoebæ are not pathogenic in reptiles. If a fecal sample is not available, a colonic wash may be used to acquire a specimen for testing.

Postmortem exams of reptiles killed by E. invadens and other pathogenic amoebæ reveal inflammation, ulceration, or necrosis of the gastrointestinal tract or colon. The intestinal wall may be thickened with necrotic membranes. The bowel may be so involved that it is apparent that ingesta was not passed through in some time, which would be consistent with antemortem wasting, anorexia, and bloating. If spread through the blood stream, the liver, kidneys and other organs may contain abscesses, necrotic areas, and evidence general inflammation.

Amoebic infections are treatable once they are identified as such and the infection is detected and treatment started before tissue and organ damage is advanced. Maintaining proper environmental temperatures, exercising proper hygiene and quarantine procedures, and ensuring the infected reptiles are adequately hydrated will help increase survival rates.

hot tubs under 3 000 image
Q. I am leaving for my first cruise in 11 days (not that I am counting...) on the Liberty of the Seas with RCCL. Has anyone been on this ship before? It looks like there is so much to do, that I don't want to waste time on things that aren't fun. What was your favorite think to do on the ship?

Any pointers on what to pack for the formal dinner. I would rather be overdressed than underdressed. Thanks!

Answer
I have not been on the Liberty but I have been on its twin sister ship the Freedom. We went on the Freedom last November. It was a great cruise. This is what I have written in the past about that cruise.

The ship holds over 3,000 passengers but we completed boarding in about 30 minutes from the curb to our cabin. It would have gone faster if they had been ready at a couple spots. We were slowed mainly by one person looking at all of the "Set Sail" passes as we entered the terminal. Then they were slow in setting up a second security desk to take security photos for the cruise cards. After that it was a breeze.

I loved the balcony cabin we had. It was roomy and had plenty of space for clothes; bags go under the bed. They announced to us that the beds on the Freedom will be cruise line wide; its was a great pillowtop bed and was very comfortable in comparison to beds on other ships. There was a flat panel HDTV in the room, a safe, and a shower stall with a sliding door. Our room included a love seat and coffee table.

The ship has a mall area down its middle with shops on both sides, including a barber shop, coffee shop, and a place where you can get free food 24/7. That's in addition to the 24/7 free room service. Its like a larger version of RC's Mariner and Adventure of the Seas ships.

The ship has some features that other ships don't have. The rock climbing wall is on many RC ships. But the new "flow rider" is unique to RC's Freedom and Liberty of the Seas ships. It is a place where you can go surfing on a boogie board right on the back of the ship. It works great, although I didn't try it. There is stadium seating for people to watch or sit while awaiting their turn. The ship also has an ice skating rink and during the week there are two days when there is a free ice show that is great, kinda like the Ice Capades. The ship also has a full sized basketball court and mini-golf. I cannot remember if it also had the roller blade track but it certainly has the ice skating.

This ship is great for kids and families with kids. On the pool deck there is one area called the H2O Zone which is essentially a small water park for kids; but us big kids can play there too. It has water cannons, a small lazy river, a pool, and falling water all over. Kids will love it. Then the middle of the ship has another pool where everyone can get wet or use a hot tub. Then up further there is an adults only area called the Solarium with a pool and two hot tubs that extend over the sides of the ship. These tubs are huge, can hold maybe 12 people and you can look over the side of the tub at the ocean.

The ship has THE best gymnasium I have ever seen on a cruise ship. All of the latest equipment, including weight machines, rowers, steppers, treadmills and each has its own TV screen so you can watch TV while you workout. It also has a boxing ring and some other new high tech stuff. Also has steam room and sauna for those who use the gym.

In addition to the ice shows there was a show in the main show room each night. There is a casino and there are bars and lounges all over the ship. There is an internet cafe but I would ship it as it way too expensive and just wait until you get to Cozumel and there is an internet cafe right at the pier that is only $5. for an hour (vs $50 an hour on ship).

The only thing I did not like about the ship was its Windjammer Cafe where everyone goes for breakfast and lunch if they don't go to the main dining room, is too small for everyone and people were walking around looking for a table after they got their food. We decided to just order the free breakfast room service an eat on the balcony.

The dress on ship is casual all day until 6:00PM. So take swim wear, shorts, sandals, beach shoes, your snorkel equipment if you have it, sun glasses and sun screen, lotions, a cap or big hat for the sun, a book if you are a reader, your music player, sneakers and clothes to workout in if you like to use the gym, your camera, and other personal toiletries.

After 6:00 PM they request that you wear "sports casual" attire. That's attire that you would expect a person to wear in a business office, shirt with a collar, slacks, skirt, blouse, etc. You can still wear shorts and swim wear in the pools and spas but not in public areas like dining rooms and restaurants, show rooms, bars, casino, etc.

Most 7-day cruises have two formal nights when you can wear your best stuff and get pictures taken, and maybe meet the shipâs Captain. The formal nights are REQUESTED not required attire. But most people do dress up in a tux for men and a long dress (any color) for women. Some men just wear a suit and tie and some women wear a nice dress but not a gown. You will not be denied access to the dining room or anything else if you choose not to dress up. (we usually take off the formal stuff after dinner and pictures anyway).

Some other tips:

-Join the cruise club so that the cruise line will send you their specials and so that you can get discounts on future cruises with them. The discount will typically be $50 to $100 per person. If you will be celebrating a honeymoon, anniversary, or birthday during the cruise, be sure to tell them, they will do special stuff for that.

- Its best to pack using soft-sided luggage because with space limited in your cabin it fits under the beds better if its not hard sided luggage. Take a small carry-on bag for the last night of the cruise. On the last evening you will be required to put your luggage outside your cabin by about 2:00 AM so that they can start taking it down to the lower deck for offloading the next morning. So you will need a small bag for your toiletries and and your clothes that you sleep in.

- - Cruise lines charge a lot for the photos they take so take your own photos around the ship when you get the chance, especially on the formal nights. Ask other passengers to take photos for you, they generally are very willing.

-
- Take a 6-pack of water and/or soft drinks in your carry on for your cabin.

- take a cup or mug with a lid for cold drinks when you are around the pool, most plastic glasses on cruise ships are small.

- take a small bottle of hand sanitizer. There will be a big dispenser at the entrance of most eating places, but sometimes these do not work or are empty. The sanitizer will help prevent you from getting sick from the Norwalk virus (unclean surfaces spread it).

Have you ever been on the Royal Caribbean Cruise: Freedom Of The Seas?

lacymonaco

My dad and stepmom are thinking of planning a cruise on Freedom Of The Seas for next year. I was wondering how is the ship?? What is the best thing to do on the cruise??

Answer
We went on the Freedom in November 2006. It was a great cruise. This is what I have written in the past about that cruise.

The ship holds over 3,000 passengers but we completed boarding in about 30 minutes from the curb to our cabin. It would have gone faster if they had been ready at a couple spots.

I loved the balcony cabin we had. It was roomy and had plenty of space for clothes; bags go under the bed. They announced to us that the beds on the Freedom will be cruise line wide; its was a great pillow-top bed and was very comfortable in comparison to beds on other ships. There was a flat panel HDTV in the room, a safe, and a shower stall with a sliding door. Our room included a love seat and coffee table.

The ship has a mall area down its middle with shops on both sides, including a barber shop, coffee shop, and a place where you can get free food 24/7, including hot pizza. That's in addition to the 24/7 free room service.

The ship has some features that other ships don't have. The rock climbing wall is on many RC ships. But the new "flow rider" is unique to RC's Freedom.

The ship has an area for kids called Adventure Ocean where you can meet other kids your age and enjoy activities. There is a crew person assigned to the area to plan activities for you. If you are a teen, there is a teen disco club called Fuel where teens can hang out all day and evening until about 2:00 AM. They have food and music there for you to enjoy or you can participate in games. Just go to this web page and click on the Adventure Ocean link: http://www.royalcaribbean.com/allaboutcruising/familycruising/home.do;jsessionid=0000eE-iDV0CgXfULsER7z4y41V:12hbiocus?cS=NAVBAR

There is a casino and there are bars and lounges all over the ship. There is an internet cafe but I would ship it as it way too expensive and just wait until you get to a port and look for an internet cafe.

The only thing I did not like about the ship was its Windjammer Cafe where everyone goes for breakfast and lunch if they don't go to the main dining room, is too small for everyone and people were walking around looking for a table after they got their food. We decided to just order the free breakfast room service an eat on the balcony.

When you cruise you enjoy the cruise ship and also things to do in the port stops like go to the beaches to swim, snorkel, jet ski, or just enjoy the beach. You will love the Freedom of the Seas.

It's old but good condition until recently. It's an outdoor, portable hot tub. Made by Hot Spring Spa
i have tried Spa Depot and they were helpful troubleshooting but not enough for my 83 year young dad of mine! We have tried the library, local spa dealerships that associate with Hot Springs Spa. I have tried downloading one off the web but they don't passed 1999.Surely someone else out there must have one...my dad can't be the only "save everything" kind of person! Thanks

Is it more energy efficient to leave my hot tub heater on permanently?

Matt S

I usually heat my hot tub up during the day if i plan to use it that night, and then when im done i will usually switch the heater off and just leave the filter pump to run; it would typically be off for two or three more days (water would cool) and then i would put it back on to use it again. Will it be more energy efficient to just leave the heater on permanently so that the thermostat can maintain a constant temperature?

Answer
My best guess is no, but it's only a guess. Water will slowly cool anywhere and especially if it's being continuously circulated all the time too. It would depend on many other factors also. It may only cost you a few bucks more a month or it may cost you much more. That's a lot of water to keep heated too. If you want to be sure and you want to invest some money you can buy a portable meter that will monitor the electrical use on any appliance to measure the amount of electricity it's using and calculate the cost. I've seen them sold in home improvement stores in the electrical department and online. There are many different brands, models, & prices too. Try not to buy one made in China, I've bought many items & tools made in China and all of them failed me in some way. Good labor I'm sure, but very poor materials &/or very poor quality, especially in electrical/electronic items.

The below estimate is if the hot tub does not run continuously. The monthly costs are based on an average time the hot tub is fully operational. These times may vary depending on your usage habits and the electric rate in your area.

Estimated Average Operation for Typical Time Used:
Wattage (Hrs/mo.) ($/mo.)
Hot Tub (indoors) 1,500 90 $12.15
Hot Tub (outdoors) 1,500 360 $48.60

Does anyone have a cabin with WiFi for rent near Gatlinburg, TN from October 20-23, 2011 for a great rate?

Q. I'm going down for my brother's wedding. If I take a flight into Knoxville, which is the nearest commercial airport, are there little planes that will take me closer into Gatlinburg? Thanks!

Answer
weinerschnitzel ...

Did you say how many will be staying in the Gatlinburg cabin? Could give you a better answer if I knew that, but, assuming you need a larger cabin with 4 MBR suites, you might want to try:

The Gatlinburg Lodge at SmokyMountainViews.com
http://smokymountainviews.com/Reservations.html

Has wifi, hot tub, jacuzzi, bigscreen tvs, bluray, views of the smokey mountains, lots of parking...

If just need a small place, try pigeon forge (wears valley), with a King mbr, hot tub, screened porch, wi-fi, hd tv, blu ray, etc:

Hope that helps. Good luck.

We want to set up a snow vacation on January ....?

Anais.Rym

We want to take a snow vacation on January, we have a toddler of 2 yr 6 months, so we want to take her to the snow... we live in Dallas, TX , is there any place close to Texas where we can go and stay for a weekend , where we could rent a cabin and just enjoy the snow. We're not interested in skiing or snow sports, just want to experience something different and have fun. All the information I've found is for ski resorts.

Thanks!

Answer
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Gatlinburg, TN. http://www.gatlinburg.com. Located in the Smokey Mountains.

It is on the mountains and a tourist spot because and makes you feel like your in an old I gues mountain village. Great shopping to. I recommend for the youngsters to.

They also get a significant amount of snow.

You rent full-service cottages, cabins, etc. that are up-to-date and like hotels. Have you ever visited the fort-wilderness lodge in disney world...? Its like that but cooler cause its on the mountainside and you look over the entire town. Most come with hot-tubs on the deck.

I am very picky about where I go and dont like dumps. I can promise you that this is not a dump. I am the type that goes to 4 to 5 star hotels.

The flights on American Airlines are about $149 roundtrip per person to Knoxville Airport. Once you get there...they have public transportation, private transportation, or rent-a-car for the quick 50 mile drive up the beautiful mountain.

The toddler will love it because it is so hands on to.

Help finding a Wisconsin cottage rental?

8 person outdoor hot tub image

I need help finding a cottage/cabin rental in Wisconsin. I prefer the lower half of the state - I don't want to go further north than Door County. The ideal rental will have no more than a 2-night minimum (the week of October 8), is in the woods, relatively secluded, on a lake or river, sleeps 2 and has an outdoor hot tub.

Do you know of such a place? I have googled and googled but have only found one that meets my requirements.

Alternatively, if you KNOW of a site where I can search that allows you to select the amenities you want, that would be great. I've come across some that allow you to search for some things, but I want to be able to limit searches only to those with outdoor hot tubs.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Cost for hot tub installation / pad?

About how much does it cost for a 6-8 person salt water hot tub in Tacoma, Wa? (Cost of tub, concrete slab, ect.)

Answer
The cost is about $5-7,000. Assuming you already have easy access to outdoor water/plumbing. But a salt-water hot tub? Never heard of that. But the proof of the pudding is in calling 3 or 4 dealers in that product and get their prices, installed. You may also attend a Home & Garden Show, where such dealers proliferate.

WHat is the most expensive brand and model hot tub? NO 18 FOOT GIANTS, BUT THE NORMAL HOT TUBS! What is the most expensive company band of hot tub, and the most expensive individual hot tub ever made?

Answer
Expensive or quality? Depending where you shop, any of them can be expensive because dealers can be just like car salesmen and jack up the price. Your question doesn't make much sense if you are in the market for a hot tub. Do some research and then ask for 'ranges' of the hot tub that interests you!
FYI there are plenty of tubs on the market that go from 15k to 20k.
