Answer
Houses are quite similar to their scandinavian counterparts. On this picture you will see what I believe is a typical icelandic house in Reykjavik: http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=reykjavik+house&um=1&hl=en&sa=N&noj=1&tbm=isch&tbnid=uawBkCKTZ3380M:&imgrefurl=http://www.eveandersson.com/photo-display/large/iceland/reykjavik-old-town-house.html&docid=fPvZzytXwnJNEM&imgurl=http://www.eveandersson.com/photos/iceland/reykjavik-old-town-house-large.jpg&w=812&h=619&ei=8MfDTp2GEsKw8gOwkJ2GCw&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=387&vpy=150&dur=6785&hovh=196&hovw=257&tx=101&ty=97&sig=108748330527909835423&page=1&tbnh=137&tbnw=187&start=0&ndsp=17&ved=1t:429,r:1,s:0&biw=1280&bih=638
Otherwise lot of people live in concrete blocs looking like this : http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=reykjavik+apartments&um=1&hl=en&noj=1&tbm=isch&tbnid=7pqAHalPYGGmqM:&imgrefurl=http://www.holiday-rentals.co.uk/p99209%3Funi_id%3D1004029&docid=iEQjSQTd93pZqM&imgurl=http://imageseu.holiday-rentals.co.uk/vd2/files/HR/400x300/n/69262/99209_1262738335701.jpg&w=400&h=300&ei=ZcjDTqHADsmm8gPystCfAw&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=616&vpy=249&dur=1831&hovh=194&hovw=259&tx=129&ty=107&sig=108748330527909835423&page=3&tbnh=132&tbnw=186&start=34&ndsp=18&ved=1t:429,r:3,s:34&biw=1280&bih=638 and modern developments like this : http://www.flickr.com/photos/jencurrier/3072007347/
when you approach Reykjavik houses look like this : http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=reykjavik+modern+flat+along+the+bay&um=1&hl=en&noj=1&tbm=isch&tbnid=3MgPnkUDFgWBUM:&imgrefurl=http://www.holiday-rentals.co.uk/reviews/p496283&docid=-QMqrCtFAMr5IM&imgurl=http://imageseu.holiday-rentals.co.uk/vd2/files/HR/400x300/ac/1116128/496283_1290607039393.jpg&w=400&h=300&ei=p8jDTvDNOMSC8gO3uMWJCw&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=175&vpy=242&dur=1230&hovh=194&hovw=259&tx=133&ty=77&sig=108748330527909835423&page=6&tbnh=127&tbnw=169&start=87&ndsp=18&ved=1t:429,r:6,s:87&biw=1280&bih=638 and if you would like to know more on icelandic architecture http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Architecture_of_Iceland
Inside it is very much like anywhere else in the western world, Ikea furniture being dominant. You can expect a high level of comfort.
Icelanders do like a good coffee and Reykjavik provide plenty of coffee places with free refills. Most of them will sit with friends or work on their laptops (I think apple products are predominant). They are very artistic people and playing an instrument or being involved in some sort of art is very common. They go to their local pools and sit in hot tubs where they can catch up on the latest gossips. Hot tubs are indeed a very important part of icelandic every day life. It is also common to retreat to the country house on holidays and rent a summer house. People can there enjoy a wide range of activities such as hiking, bbqs, getting drunk (lol). I guess otherwise it is similar to anywhere else again.
As for plantlife, trees are a rather rare sight (apart of course in towns) and this should give you more details : http://www.iceland-nh.net/plants/data/Lupinus-nootkatensis/lupinus_nootkatensis.html
Berry hunting is popular (especially blueberries).
Mmm I hope I have kind of answered your question.

Do any hotels in New England have large jacuzzi tubs that accommodate more than two people?

Answer
The only place I know of is The Swiss Chalets Village Inn in Intervale, NH.
They have hot tub suites rather than 2-person jacuzzi suites, but I don't know how many people they hold.
