What's up with that? Customer service is not available. Also, the cord is a standard three prong...I thought pool equipment had to be twist lock? Did I get jipped? Should I try to return this pump? I'm very confused.

Answer
Would recommend calling an electrician as they are up on all the local codes. Seems to me they are required anyway, as they are for a hot tub. There are possible safety questions involved here.

pool pump is leaking... help!?

HAYward ec65... I took off the top to clean the fingers and put the top back on and after about an hour or two it was leaking water all over.... thought I had the rubber seal in the correct place but I guess not... how do I make sure I get the top back on so it doesn't flood my basement (again!)...

Now also the air release, peg thing leaks all over too... I hope to buy a new one of those.

Answer
The rubber seal needs to be replaced. Once they are removed they always leak. Order a couple from a dealer to have one handy. Need a new air release valve too. They loose their hold and shape over time. I hated having a pool. It was always such a hassle. No more just a simple hot tub. They can be a pain too!! It's all relevant isn't it.
