We live in the Pensacola FL area (panhandle) and we're thinking mid to late march, so it still needs to be in the south where it will be a bit warmer. We are looking for a romantic and relaxing getaway for about 4-5 days, and don't want to spend more than 6-700. We would be driving of course, so nothing too far West. Maybe within a 7 hour drive. We were going to go to Gatlinburg TN, which we've already been to and love, but I'm concerned what type of weather they'll be having, and was interested in trying something different. I heard hot springs, AR is nice, but we're expecting our fist child in August and I can't get into any hot tubs, or hot springs cause it can hurt the baby :( We wouldn't mind still being at the beach, but the water will still be kindda chilly, so the town has to have lots to do. Any recommendations?
(not louisianna, we plan on doing that on a weekend, and we are military, so if a base were near by, we could stay on that and save money maybe)
daytona may have been nice, but i just remembered it will be spring break time for kids :( Not very relaxing lol

Answer
Daytona Beach of course.

Best beach in FL. Tons to do on and off the beach. We love the Best Western Aku Tiki Inn.

Check out tripadvisor.com, a free site to join, search the area you want to know about.

Traveling from Indiana to Florida in March 2012 and looking for accomodations?

I want to go to Florida for spring break (3/17-3/24) with my 2 teens. Budget is tight so will probably drive down and find a grocery when we get there. One night stay each way + 5 nights in Florida. Looking into areas like Destin or Panama City Beach. I haven't visited the Gulf side and am looking for a nice condo or hotel less than $200/day, on the Gulf beach, and with a kitchenette, hot tub, pool and nearby grocery. I'd appreciate hearing from folks who travel this area and can recommend a place, especially if there's a website where we could view photos and reviews. Thanks!

Answer
Panama City Beach will be a little crazy for a family in March. Destin is a good option but can be a little pricey. If you are looking to save money in Destin check out http://cheapdestinhotels.com for the lowest rates. Another good option with the same beaches that will less money is Pensacola Beach. It's only 1 hour west of Destin. Visit http://cheappensacolahotels.com for affordable options there. Have fun!
