Planning a trip to Killington. Where's a great place to lodge?

Lucidus

A couple of friends, myself included, are planning a ski trip january3-8 (midweek special) to Killington, Vermont. What's a great place to lodge, we have a car, but I am familiar with dragging skis (bunch of women in the party, and some lazy men =p), and would prefer to stay mountain side something along the lines of ski-home condos. Price is also important because we're college students. We would also like to stay close to the main area, so that we could go out for walks at night. Any relevant suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance.

I stayed in the Sunrise Condos years ago. They were nice and reasonably priced, but we also had a package deal. We had the place pretty much to ourselves mid-week. That was good because we threw a big party. It's more built up now and there are more permanent residents now.

As for location and "the main area"...there's not a lot going on at the Snowshed/Ramshead/K-1/Grand Hotel area after the slopes close. The bars and restaurants are all on the Access Road, so you'll need to either drive or take a shuttle if you stay in any of the Killington owned condos.

I have to admit, the ski-in/ski-out thing is nice, but better deals are to be found at some of the off-property hotels or even some of the privately owned rental properties. However, depending on what you plan to spend on food may or may not make up for the extra cost of the slopeside digs.

Nowadays, if I'm not crashing in Rutland with friends, I stay at The Summit on the access road. Heated outdoor pool, sauna, hot tub, bar, and breakfast is included. The Grist Mill restaurant is next door and has good food and a decent bar. Go there on Wednesday nights when the local Rotary Club is meeting and crash their cocktail hour.

I am looking for a luxury cabin for a week long vacation preferably in OK. or AR.?

We actually have a cabin reserved in Tn. but the drive of fourteen hours seems to much to me so I think we're going to cancel. we live in the Dallas Tx area and I would prefer not to have to drive more than three or four hours tops. We have to have a hot tub with the cabin and it has to be pet friendly. My husband would like to do some white water rafting as well . Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I found some cabins that are wonderful and it is in SE Oklahoma near Broken Bow. All the cabins are first class. All of the cabins feature Central Heat & Air conditioning.

All the cabins are also fully equipped with linens and towels, full kitchens with modern appliances, with comfortable bedrooms and many feature outdoor grills, Jacuzzis, hot tubs and satellite TV and VCR's.

They have several different cabins and I know that Pine Lodge offers a 2 person Jacuzzi in the cabin. It is really nice.

Hope this helps.
