Hot Tub...?

Q. How much would a 3 year old Sundance Bahia Spa be worth?

http://www.allseasonsspas.net/bahia.html

Answer
Your Bahia is a great tub made by Sundance. As a former Sundance dealer I would tell you to start at $3500.00 assuming it really is in good condition. A new one can be had at $5800.00 or so. Most used tubs I see sell are usualy around the 1500 to 2k range. Hopefully it is in an easy location to move it from. I always suggest to people to empty it, put it on furniture dolleys and then get a roll back to move it from one place to the other. Usually the easiest and cheapest way to move a tub from one place to another. The parts for that tub are not that expensive and it's structure is very solid.

need help identifying older spa hot tub and selecting equipment?

When we bought our house there was an old spa shell built into the back deck. I have searched online and haven't been able to find any information about the spa. There is a badge on one corner that says WestWind Spas and an air control valve/cover thing that says "Santana" as well as a big rubber cone like button. The outside is 86"x86" and inside center is 76"x76" there are steps in one corner, one with a light, 2 lounges, 2 contoured buckets and a cool down seat all with 1/8" air holes spaced every 3". There are 5 Hayward "vari-flo" jets (sp1434) one at each seat. There is a Hayward C-250 "star-clear" filter sitting next to the spa under the deck. All of the PVC pipes were cut so I have no clue how the spa pack was set up or what frame size (or HP!) the pump was. The pipe coming from the drain is 1 1/2", the air blower line is 2" and both the passive air line and water lines connected to the jets are 1" Last year we cleaned it all up to see if it would even hold water after 12+ years uncovered outside. It did, so we hooked an old above ground pool pump to it and called it the "semi-tub"! We recently found some parts buried in the garage including the heater but have had no luck looking up info on it either. The heater element looks like a coil with 2 probe type pieces sticking up from the center inside of a piece of 3" PVC which is attached to a grey metal box that says "Hot Water Products Inc 69239" On the top of the box there is a grounded socket (110V?) and another socket with 4 "z" shaped openings and a hole near the center. One side of the box has a cord with a grounded plug (110V?) the 2nd side has a switch, temp control dial and LED, the 3rd side has a plastic nipple for an air control connection, a switch and whats left of a cut off cord, and the 4th side is plain. I would really like to buy a new spa pack or at least piece one together but have no clue what size pump(s?) to get. I'm thinking I need around a 1 1/2HP or 2HP dual speed pump and I believe the blower needs to be 1HP. As for the electrical connections, I'm even more lost! Any help, suggestions or info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

wow ,what a nightmare .As an elctrician i can say with almost 100 percent certainty that the maker of your spa has long gone out of business .This is common actually i know if you do find replacement ,direct replacement ,OEM style .parts that you would be very lucky and thats the issue to change the entire layout plumbing wise could be as expensive or more than than the cost of a whole new unit and how old is the unit if it more than 5 years old then honestly your on a witch hunt i am not saying that these parts cant be found but is it worth your time and effort to do that ,i rarely say this but i have tried in vain to find new parts ,stuff like motors and pumps can be rebuilt but the pc board thats basically the heart of it if that goes your kinda screwed and heating elements can be a nightmare too in most cases its less money and stress to purchase a new one and at least you have a warranty and have new more efficent equipment and do not get a 110 volt one they use more power and take forever to heat stay 220/240 volt and if it already uses 110 then i myself would scrap it in the 110 volt models they are power hogs and are very inefficent
