Q. My 12 year old son went to his friends house, fhey went to the pool and I found out they were sitting in the hottub for almost the whole time (3-4 hours)
My son is home now, his skin looks different. It looks very dried out as if there is no moisturize left in his skin. He also says its itchy sometimes.
What should I be doing?

Wow, I have been reading a bunch of these questions in this catogory for the past 30 minutes just because I am board. I have come to the conclusion that the majority of parents who post questions on here, worry WAY to MUCH. Like seriously, didn't you ever get "Prune fingers" when you got a bath as a kid? I know on many occasions I swam ALL DAY at the local pool in the summer. Seriously stop worrying. I would also like to add that if your "Avatar" picture is you, then you are smokin' hot! I dare even say you are a "MILF" rofl.

How old would your child have to be before you let them use a hot tub?

We have a friendly debate going at my house right now. I say because of the chemicals, heat and danger 7 or 8 my husband says 3 or 4.
Riiiiiight, well I don't plan on starting to feed my son chlorine any time soon. I'll stick with the vegan diet and pesticide free produce. Thanks.

I am surprised at the answers that say 12 years old! lol. I was a lifeguard and after lessons we took kindergarten kids in for 5-10 minutes at the end of lesson on fun day.
I took my baby in when he was a month old. You have to use your common sense and make sure that the temperature is sensible (some are very hot), and to watch the baby's color and body temperature, and look for signs of mild discomfort. This is common sense for yourself too in a hot tub. As long as it is a comfortable temperature and the baby likes, I don't see the harm. My babies LOVED the hot tub, and my last baby did not like cooler water at all.
