I live in Westchester, NY any ideas?
yes i am moving from one house to another
it is a hot tub
Answer
OOOHH, now you will learn WHY people end up giving these beasts away when they have to move 'em...
I bought an 8x8 massive tub last month, had the joy of moving it from one house to another.
Here's my findings!
1. four guys aren't enough; 5-6 would make life simple. you need a couple guys to steer the tub and more to push & pull.
2. a trailer MADE for hot tubs! Dont make my mistake and trust your buddy to "find you one." We ended up with a motorcycle/snowmobile trailer that was too small for the job and that was a huge waste of time and my SANITY! Dont bother with UHAUL, call your local equipment rental company and they will have a hot tub trailer and a hot tub dolly for rent--spend the money, its well worth it.
3. LEVERAGE is your friend. Work smarter, not harder. Drain the tub completely, including the plumbing/pipes--water is HEAVY. We turned the tub on its end, used two 16 foot 2x4's under the tub and slid the tub onto the trailer and used the 2x4's for lifting of the tub and like a snow-sled to slide the tub. I like the idea of a scrap piece of carpet as well from the other posts.

How much would it cost to lay a concrete patio for a 6 person hot tub? In columbus ohio?

Answer
Without any dimensional information, its hard to give you an accurate guess. So, if you know your cubic foot dimensions for this project, the number of cubic feet will equal the number of 20 pound bags of concrete you will need. Prices vary from $2.99 to $5.99 per bag (depending on what type you buy). You will also need reinforcement netting, probably a few bags of stone to fill and strengthen the bottom, and some lumber for the frame.
Example: for an 8 x 8 x .5 foot slab.
8x8=64
64/2=32 bags of concrete
If a bag of concrete costs $2.99 then,
$2.99 x 32 bags = $95.68
Throw in four 100 lb bags of chipped stone at $6.99 per bag,
4 x $6.99 = $27.96
Wire mesh x 1 roll at $5.99
$95.68 + $27.96 + $5.99 = $129.63 total.
Note: Thats just an estimate and an example fo how to determine the cost. I'd sya for around $200.00 you can build something really nice, finish it off with decorative stone or brick.
Good Luck on your project.
