We are set on purchasing a Cal Spas A857B hot tub. The Watson's dealer in Indianapolis lowered his price from $7,999 to $7,000. I'd like to know if this is a good deal, as it has been very tough to compare prices with hot tubs.

I have a Cal Spa. It is under warranty and has been broken now for nearly 9 months. And, yes, the initial damage was covered by the warranty (there is now collateral damage caused by the hot tub being non-functioning as well). They have not been able to repair it and the refuse to refund or replace it so we are now having to take them to court. Please read the numerous similar stories on ripoffreport.com before you consider buying anything from them.

why do they say that the hot tub/spa is bad for males?

whats the deal? what damage does that do? is the damage permanent or just temporary? and what about really hot showers? does that do the same amount of damage?

Actually both of your answers so far are kind of wrong, you do produce new sperm constantly but.... a hot tub and really tear up your sperm count. here is a paragraph from a website on medical information, it is very reliable. good luck to you.

"I advise any male interested in fathering a child to avoid temperatures greater than 100 degree. It can take up to six months to recover normal sperm parameters," says Dr. Greene. These include sperm count, movement, shape and structure. Men are most likely to be fertile with a count greater than 20 million sperm per milliliter, if more than 50 percent of sperm are moving and more than 30 percent of the sperm have a normal shape and structure.
