What about your house taxes? Is it any kind of pool regardless of whether it's above ground or in ground? And what about hot tubs?
We don't need a permit for a private pool in PA.

Yes and no on the insurance. Having a large pool whether built in or above ground requires and additional rider on your homeowner's policy (from my insurance company's documents). If you don't have that rider, you're on your own if you are sued because someone drowns whether they were on your property with or without your permission, whether they were negligent or not (the law doesn't care).
I can't answer anything certain about the taxes other than in-ground pools add value to the property and I would expect the property taxes would be higher. Above ground pools are not really that permanent and neither are hot tubs. I had a hot tub/spa installed and my taxes didn't change enough for me to notice. Your county tax assessor would have better info.

I am working on a poster for my Italian Grandparents and I want to include a view values and contributions made by Italians to American Culture and Society but I don't know what to say.
