I have a hot tub in the master bathroom that I fill up when I want to use, then drain it. It's part of the shower. I simply clean it like a normal tub, but is it there any special maintenance I have to do? Any cleaning agent I have to put in the water and run it or something like that to clean the piping of the tub? As this is not a regular tub, there is no filter cartridge or chemical balancing that needs to be done.
I really did not need a copy/paste. I said this is a bathtub with jets. No need for filter cartridge or pH and chemical adjustments, as it gets filled/emptied as needed. I was just wondering if I have to run clean water or other chemicals once in a while to clean the pipes or if that is not necessary.
Answer
Daily maintenance of the hot tub is quite important to keep the water safe for the family. In water you have to keep close watch on the Ph and Chlorine levels. If the level of these 2 is in balance then the water in the hot tub is safe for use. For sanitizing & cleaning the water in the tub, chlorine is most important agent. There is another alternate to chlorine that can be used which is known as Bromine & can be added as granules, tablets or nuggets. Many of the new hot tubs have bromine dispensers which dispense the correct amount of bromine in tubâs water for 2 months. This facility helps in cutting down a lot of maintenance troubles which you need to do on regular basis.
Some other chemicals that are added once every week to clean the water such as one cleaning agent called scum out, another one to clear the water called spa bright and another one to remove foam from the water and comes as a spray.
Another important thing to do is to keep the filter clean and on an average you should clean it once every month. You can keep the water safe, clean and clear by keeping the hot tubâs filter clean. There is a cleansing agent also available for quick rinsing of the filter which can keep the filter looking brand new for about a year. It will also be advisable to replace the filter on a yearly basis.

Hot Tub from Home Depot?

I was looking into buying a hot tub, but i really did not want to spent alot of money. I saw some hotubs out there for $16,000. I found one at the Home Depot for only $4298. The model I liked is the Crete 390S. It is an 8 person tub with 40 jets! If you have ever owned or ever been in a Home Depot hot tub or have any experiecne with this hot tub, please write a review for it or tell me anything i should know before i purchase this tub.
Thank-you

Hello.
I have to tell you I use to sell Sundance Spas and Master Spas. Two great spa lines. Now I repair every hot tub line that is sold under warranty in the USA. The Infinity spa is a good decent solid entry-mid level spa. They use Balboa electronics and water way jets etc... I do like their customer service when you do get them (It may take 15 minutes) since they do note everything and relay it to me the service guy in a nice form and timely manner. They have fast service times compared to most of the other companies I do work for.
The thing you really need to take note of is if you buy their best you will be able to buy it almost three times (or repair it 5 times) compared to the top brands one time. That is something to realize since every tub is going to break in time. Most of the time due to bad chemistry.
RW please hardwire your Dream maker spa. The failure rate for the corded GFI is very high and causes fires in some of them that I have seen.
