best cleaner for hot tubs image

bagelboy8
Just bought a house that came with a hot tub - problem is, the seller didn't clean the hot tub for about 3-6 months. It has been kept covered and the water smells of chlorine still though and no visible signs of algae or anything else. My question is...how should I go about cleaning it? Where do I start? :(
Answer
Baking Soda!! Natures best cleaing tool. It wont scratch, but it deodorizes, and leaves a clean fresh feeling, and smell. Hint, you can clean just about anything with baking soda. It has a natural bleaching effect. I would start by totally draining the tub, and scour away, rinse well, (the baking soda will also help keep your drains and pumps clean, and fresh) Then refill.. No harsh chemicals, and your new hottub, will feel totally clean.

I cleaned my hot tub this morning at noon. How long does it take the water to warm up to 104 degrees??
Answer
If your tub is hooked up to 240v it heats up roughly 6-7 degrees an hour. 120v. 1.5 degrees an hour.
