what pump do you use to drain outdoor hot tub in deck ?

I have 400 gallon hot tub that needs to be drained and I would like a pump that can empty it within 15-20 minutes (i.e. ~1600 gpm). i plan to drain the hot tub every 3 months. FYI, i have seen some that have top handles to easily place the pump into the hot tub and it seems like a nice feature.

please provide specific make and model of the submersible pump you use to drain your outdoor hot tub. if you have a web link to a site which sells them, please list that also.

would like to spend less than $100 on a pump if possible.

You can buy a cheap garden hose a Walmart for less than $10. Siphon!!! It`s a little slower, but it`s a lot cheaper and nothing mechanical to breakdown.

Outdoor hot tub winter temperature?

Does anyone have a recommendation for water temperature for an outdoor hot tub in the winter? What temp have you found to be perfect for you? I'll try that setting and make adjustments as needed. Thanks!

Anywhere around 100 F is good. I've got mine set at 102. Nice and hot and great to relax before bed. If you're leaving water in the hot tub when you're not using it be sure to keep it circulating so it doesn't freeze and ruin the pump and pipes.
