I lived in FL with my ex for 2 yrs. He's a widow with 2 boys 3 and 7 at the time. He's much older than me. I quit my job to take care of him his home and treated his boys like they were my own. I found out I was 13-14 weeks pregnant. He demanded I have an abortion. I put it off until I was 24 weeks and finally told him I wouldn't do it. He kicked me out of the house told me I needed to move back to ohio. I really had no choice at this point. I packed my car and drove myself to ohio, I was 30 weeks pregnant. He wanted nothing to do with us. told me I ruined his family and there good name and his reputation in his church. I begged him to come for the delivery. He said he couldn't make it. I still believed he would come around so I sent a affidavit of paternity for him to sign. I told him I would agree to hyphenate his last name. He threaten me for not giving my son his name. He demanded I take my 3 day old baby to take a paternity test before he signed. I was afraid if he didn't sign I wouldn't be able to afford health insurance for my son. I did everything he asked. I filed for child support we had a hearing and he had to pay what they said. he thought he shouldn't have to pay the amount they figured. I sent pictures and updates of my son only to receive threatening email back. I invited him to visit countless times. He's never asked about my son never called to check up or anything. At 4 months I took my son to FL to visit. I was there for 2 weeks he met us once at a park where it was to hot for a newborn. He spent 30 minutes with us and left us while my son was crying and I was trying to cool him down. The next day I received a letter from his attorney he was taking me to court for full custody. I was scared to death. This man makes a lot of money has 2 beautiful homes. I know that I'm a amazing mother I live for my son. I send all day everyday with him. But I am living at home with my mother and I'm a artist who is not making real money at the moment. I got a call from my attorney. HE WANTS TO SIGN AWAY HIS RIGHTS? Right now I think this will be the best thing for my son. But I cant get health insurance for my son. I told him I would agree to this. He could sign his rights away and not pay support but he had to keep my son on his insurance until he's 18. Come to find out this is not allowed. He said he would pay for my health insurance and my son's (a very basic plan) I didn't agree. I don't trust him. This made him furious. Now he's suing me for full custody of my son. He's not willing to share him at all. He doesn't want to introduce my son to his children until he decides he wants that. My attorney told me he will probably get 8 weeks a year but I don't feel confident. I'm so scared, I fear for my son. My baby is everything to me. His older Brother has no job and lives with him. He has PTSD, screams and hits the kids leaves bruises where he squeezes them. I've even seen him hold the oldest boys head under water in the bath tub. I've never reported this b/c i was told it wasn't my place. But when I was living there I never let the kids near him and I never left the house if he was there with the boys. MY attorney said there is nothing I can do I still have to send my son. They smoke cigars and cigarettes in the house and they leave the kids unsupervised daily they are out on the outdoor patio watching tv with the kids are alone inside. I need advise. What can I do to make sure I don't loose my son. I feel like my voice doesn't matter. This is a very smart 42 yr old man with money. I'm just a 24yr old single mother. He's also just started to say that I abused his children. What do I need to do to put a stop to this in court. I love his children like they are my own. I was the one who took care of them I would never ever harm them in anyway. I need Help any advice at all would be wonderful. Thank you so much.

He's filed for sole custody, and sent a request to sign over his rights through his attorney.

The judge is going to see his all or nothing approach and raise him a monthly child support payment.

I promise you that a man who is willing to sign away his rights will not get full custody. In fact, take the threats he's made by email in to court and seek that his visitation be supervised. The fact that you didn't report the abuse to his older children will not help, but you may still be able to, if the boys are willing to admit that their father did it (keep in mind, this may get his children taken from him, which is not a bad thing if they truly are being abused).

The absolute only way he can get sole custody is to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are abusive. I doubt this will hold up for very long. This may be a long process, but you will win.

Tanning while pregnant?

Can I tan? lol...not in a tanning bed, but like w/outdoor suntan lotion and laying out in the sun? and also, if any of you know...CAN I TAN IN A TANNING BED? possibly? I'm supposed to go to jamaica w/the fiance soon and I wanna get some tan going before I arrive. Lol. Thanks for any answers/advice I get.

NO only spray tans the uv rays are harmful to the fetus and so are hot tubs don't really know exactly why but it is
