How should I decorate an area around a hot tub?

I'm going to get a hot tub, but I was wondering what I could do to make it nicer around it. It's going to be outside under a porch. It's on concrete, which is kind of dingy and cracked up. how could I change/fix that? and the porch is wooden, what can I put under it so the area is protected when it rains? Those are the two main problems, and any decorative ideas are great. The cheaper the better, but everything works. Thanks in advance!

Answer
Fill in cracks of concrete with concrete liquid repair. 'Paint' the concrete with garage floor 'paint' - - It is an epoxy that you can toss 'sprinkles' of color on top.

The two main sides, if not all around it, of porch near your tub should be enclosed. You may not need full wall from cement to porch roof. Consider wooden fencing panels. Perhaps put one a a track so you can slide open or leave closed. Or have it closed on the lower 2/3 of porch with a hinged door from roof of porch & connects to the 'fence-wall' then hook to porch roof for sun & fresh air then close & hook inside of 'fence-wall' to keep others away from tub when no one around. Paint decorations on cork runner for ease on the feet. With an enclosed or semi-enclosed area, can have small tables, lawn chairs, lanterns, etc...

Make the floor look like water/ocean. paint clouds, etc.. on you wall. beach towel rug. fake palm tree. fish net, cork fishing bobbers. Depends on your personal taste.

How can I heat up my hot tub without a electric pool heater?

My pool heater broke and it's going to cost $5,000 to replace. I have a pool and a connected hot tub. Since it's summer the pool does not need to be heated but I really want to have my friends over to go into the hot tub, but since we have no heater the hot tub is the same temperature as the pool. My question is, is there any way I can heat a hot tub sized body of water without something like a pool heater and for relatively cheap (under $150).

Answer
You say the pool heater is broke. I am surprised you can have it repaired for less that $5000. I would look in that direction first. You are not likely to find a heater and install it for only the hot tub for only $150.

I suggest you contact this website maybe they can help you.
