outdoor hot tub 2 person image

Kel
Our cute, innocent, delicate, wonderful, loving little daughter just dumped about a quarter of a box of calgon in the hot tub. The water is blue, and the scent is nice, but OMG!, What should I do? Do I drain the tub? Here in OHIO it's snowing, draining it would be a pain! (it's an outdoor tub that we use daily). Suggestions anyone? Drain it or wait it out?
Answer
First put one 1/2 gallon of distilled vinegar in it. run your pumps for a few minutes. Drain competely. Repeat with fresh water two more times and you should be alright. What a mess that can be.
For the person that thinks it's no big deal..it is. Waterway jet gaskets will deterioate if they are using the common Bromine or Chlorine sanitizers. Waterway gasets are in most hot tubs. It's the combination of chemicals that will do the harm. Calgon by itself will do nothing except foam like crazy. On average it takes me roughly 45 minutes to change out a jet's O-rings on a non-foamed tub. If it's foamed then we have to dig out the foam adding hours sometime for one jet.
I must admit bad advice like this keeps me driving Porches and Range Rovers. Thanks!

I'm going to Hocking Hills next summer. I was trying to add up total costs. I want to do activites such as canoeing, hiking, zipline, go karts, horseback riding, and a lot of other activites. I'm going with 6 people. Do any of you have a good priced house with a hot tub, the costs for those activites, and any other useful information? Thanks a bunch!
Answer
My guess is that if you book early, you might get a good cabin with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a hot tub for $250-$370/night, depending upon when you go (weekends are more) and what amenities/location are included.

Hocking Hills State Park cottages will sleep up to six persons, but they don't have hot tubs. This past summer season, they cost $140/night. These cottages need to be booked early.

Owners may be worried about a weaker economy next year and might try to lock in reservations early by offering lower rates.
The area's waterfalls in general are better in late spring, early summer when storms are more frequent.
The zip line reportedly cost $85/person this year.

You'll have to check other prices on your own using the links below.
If you've never seen it, I would recommend the Tecumseh Outdoor Drama, which costs $14-$23/person, depending upon the day and age of the audience member.
