hot tubs for rent image

The boyfriend and I are about to rent a house that comes with a hot tub that we are keen on using, but it needs to be cleaned. Our future landlords said they would provide us with the chemicals to maintain it, but that's where they left us.
Do you know of anyone professionally that cleans hot tubs in the Atlanta area? I aint doin' it...
Thanks.
Answer
I own a swimming pool company in Wilmington, NC and I can give you a basic idea of what to expect.
For an initial cleaning, expect to pay $75/hour for cleanup through a professional company. This generally takes 2-3 hours depending on how big and dirty the tub is.
If you're not ready to learn how to balance the chemistry in your spa, expect to pay about $75-100 a month for spa maintenance.
I recommend purchasing a Taylor test kit for testing your chemicals (not strips).
Look at the K-1004 kit.

Hope this helps. Good Luck!

How move big hot tub out of a porch?

Lightheart
This hot tub is ancient and broken and I want to move it out of an enclosed porch. It is 7' X 5' and about 4' high. Is made of fiberglass and weighs about 500 lbs. What is the best way to get it out of there cost effectively without renting a crane. chop it up with a chain saw and carry out the pieces?
Answer
I don't think a chain saw is going to very work well on fiberglass. I would rent or borrow a reciprocating saw or get an abrasive type blade for my circular saw.
And be sure to dress the part! I would get a pair of disposable coveralls and some decent gloves, then tape the coveralls to the gloves and my boots with duct tape. Wear a good dust mask, goggles and a face mask to cover as much of your head and face as possible. Fiberglass is nasty stuff on your skin and can be really nasty if you inhale it or get it in your eyes or ears!
